Lois Eastlund Press Peek!

I first met Lois Eastlund when she was at The Edge NYC Noho located on 65 Bleeker St. (FYI- The Edge is an independent designer collective store that features some awesome jewelry, apparel and accessory designers).  I have used her clothing in fashion shows and magazine shoots that I have done in the past and it was always a pleasure working with her!

Now Lois has her own boutique right in the middle of it all in LES on Ludlow St. Its right across from the popular night spot Cakeshop and down the street from Libation.  The press peek was really nice and intimate, complete with loads of champagne and cookies (two of my guilty pleasures :).  Lois' store consists of her original designs for men and women which are primarily made of cotton hand painted fabrics, that she paints herself!  She also has hand-knitted boleros for women (again done by Lois) and a vintage section to mix and match with her original designs.

She describes her collection as a "mix of 1960s mod and 1980s street punk".  While I was there I chatted with Lois about the state of the fashion industry as we know it and the importance of being a DIY'er.   Lois is a true superwoman, she hand paints her fabric, makes patterns, cut and sews, knits, and finds time to sell her own merchandise! Whew!  Enough about work...let's look at pics from the party!

All in all a great sneak peek and a beautiful store!  Come see for yourself she's open to the public tomorrow  @ 10 am: 153 Ludlow Street, 212-777-1470.

Until then, I'm proud of you Lois!
