Tokyo! Look! Asia Society Lecture/ Afterparty

Last week I attended a lecture on Tokyo fashion and subcultures at Asia Society called "Tokyo! Look!" It was very interesting hearing Dan Bailey of Tokyo Dandy speak about his experiences in Tokyo and look at all the great photos he has taken of fashionable partygoers.  Like these:

Afterwards there was a party in the museum (sponsored by Asahi and TY KU)with a fashion presentation by Candy:

They took the bubble coat I had in high school and remixed the hell out of it. LOVE IT! 

These girls were too かわいい!

C$tg Designs in Tokyo!

Myself and MariJ at the Japan Music Week event

I was so fortunate while I was in Tokyo to be invited to vendor at DaiTime's Japan Music Event the "Nu Nu Showcase." Here are some of the evening's highlights:

Guest performer Maggie Horn purchased my "Broken Dreamgirl" Dress

The owner of Smoke Bar liked this skirt she bought from me so much she put it on immediately and wore it for the evening. I want all my clothes to continue to excite my customers like that :).

And she bought these keychains/ cell phone charms from me. New accessories I made while I was there.

Summary: I made money! Seriously though I learned that there's market for my clothes in Tokyo and I intend to capitalize on that. :D

SWAP!

I've been extremely busy as of late so as a result I decided to have a lil' intimate get together at my place. I'm hosting a clothing SWAP! Monday, October 12th in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn from 6pm to 9pm.

The way this works is:

1. You must bring clothing or shoes to swap (ladies only, sorry boys).

2. EVERYONE has to post their sizes on the facebook event wall (don't worry its a closed event) or email them to me and invite someone who's the same size as yourself or someone else.

3. BYOB (I'll have treats)!

4. I will also be selling a few samples and one-of-kind pieces for really really cheap. (no pressure I'm swapping as well)
