Tokyo! Look! Asia Society Lecture/ Afterparty
(L to R) Yuniya Kawamura (Professor of Sociology, Fashion Institute of Technology);
Dan Bailey (Co-founder, Tokyo Dandy);
Nicole Michalek (Senior Designer, Nylon magazine, USA)
Last week I attended a lecture on Tokyo fashion and subcultures at Asia Society called "Tokyo! Look!" It was very interesting hearing Dan Bailey of Tokyo Dandy speak about his experiences in Tokyo and look at all the great photos he has taken of fashionable partygoers. Like these:
Afterwards there was a party in the museum (sponsored by Asahi and TY KU)with a fashion presentation by Candy:
Not your average hoodie...
They took the bubble coat I had in high school and remixed the hell out of it. LOVE IT!
These girls were too かわいい!
I had a blast (and two many beers)!

Shibuya 4.20
I can't find the card for this shop :(. But its in Shibuya-ku and the manager there (pictured above) was soooo fly and really sweet. I really hope I find the business card I want to go back there on my next trip. They had the best selection of vintage, accessories and KTZ one of my favorite lines.

Hiro LaForet 4.15
I met Hiro while shopping in LaForet. I couldn't get over how clean his white gloves were and his amazing asymmetrical hair. So I had to take a picture. :)

LaForet Punk Gal 4.15
Loving her mixture of bows, lace, pearls and stripes topping of her look with killer nails and pink hair. Oh and don't forget about the combat boots.

Back to Tokyo!
I'm going back to Tokyo tomorrow! And guess what? I never posted this picture of my sequined wonder twin from my last trip:
I swear he was in my closet and stole my dress, leather jacket and tortoise glasses :). I can't wait to start taking new pics of the fashions, people, friends, etc!

Store Profile: RADD Lounge
Hiroshi, C$tg & Wataru in Radd LoungeI made friends with Hiroshi after visiting his store Radd Lounge my first week in Tokyo. The shop is in the cut in Shibuya which made discovering it that much sweeter. I was really impressed by the visual displays and the lines that Radd carries. The store carries Jeremy Scott X Addidas, Pete vs. Toby, Sixpack France, Peg Leg, ATC, and Schwipe (Love the red brick leggings!) to name a few. Here are some pics I snapped at the shop:
If you plan on visiting Tokyo soon and want to stop by and see Hiroshi here's a map of the shop (You will learn that maps are so important for finding anything in Tokyo):

C$tg X Cavwins.com
Earlier this year I teamed up with Cavalier of Cavwins.com to style an official photo launch of his t-shirt line. The result was a hard day of work in the studio with photographer Slinky and the B-Boy Crew Supreme Beings that paid of in some wonderful images. Oh and it was sponsored by FLUD Watches...Check 'em out:

Oh and there is a promo video of the launch that includes one of Cavalier's tracks "On the Map" and the Supreme Beings doing their thing. Enjoy!
I had so much fun doing this. Previously to this I hadn't done a photoshoot in a looooooong time and it was my 1st time working with a child model! How I missed the spontaneity on styling on a SET!!! I'm going to be shooting a lot this summer so get in touch with me if you have a dope concept in mind (serious inquires only). Expect more amazing images to come from me really soon...I have some crazy concepts floating around in my head right now.
Until then, :)
